Adorável Vagabundo (Meet John Doe)




Quando Henry Connell (James Gleason), seu editor, a demite, Ann Mitchell (Barbara Stanwyck), uma jornalista, publica sua última matéria, uma carta criada por ela e assinada por John Doe comunicando que cometerá suicídio no Natal em protesto contra corrupção e a pobreza, que invadem o país. Isto gera várias reportagens, nas quais Ann denuncia as injustiças sociais. Tal fato leva o jornal a procurar alguém para representar John Doe e o escolhido é Long John Willoughby (Gary Cooper), um vagabundo. Mas a popularidade de John cresce de tal maneira que os fatos saem do controle.
